Florine Stewart Watson, age 88, of Sparta, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at her daughter's home in Murfreesboro. Mrs. Watson was born December 15, 1925 in White County to the late Virgil Reece and Zeta Baker Stewart. She was a former medical records coder and homemaker. She married Joel Sanders Watson, Sr. on April 15, 1949 and was married 53 years until his death in 2003. Mrs. Watson was a lifetime member of First Christian Church of Sparta. Mr. and Mrs. Watson also attended United Methodist Church while living in Jamestown from 1959 – 1997. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by sisters: Leron Simpson, Katherine Bower, Marie McBride and Ruby Grimmer; and brothers: Stancel and Randall Stewart. Mrs. Watson is survived by her daughter Jolene Watson; son Joel Sanders Watson, Jr. and wife Reisha Watson; grand-daughters Ashton and Allie Watson and Sydney DeGraw; grandson Parker DeGraw, all of Murfreesboro;sister Elise Stewart Billings and husband Carl Billings of Indianapolis, IN; brother Gordon Stewart and wife Bernice Stewart of Donelson; sister-in-laws: Clarice Stewart of Sparta; Ann Stewart of Hendersonville; Lillian McKellips of Chaparral, NM; and brother-in-law Ray Watson of Doyle. Visitation will be held at the Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 15, 2014. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at the Highland Cemetery. Carl Sims and Trevor Trehan will be officiating
