R.L. Tichenor, 81, of Kansas City, MO passed away February 13, 2014. Funeral service will be 11:30am Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Northgate Baptist Church, 800 NE Vivion Rd, KMCO, with visitation from 10-11:30 prior to the service. Graveside will be 11am Thursday February 20, 2014 at Rock Comfort Cemetery, in Rocky Comfort, MO. R.L. was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Oma Opal "Ferhing" Tichenor and his brother, Lloyd. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Gloria of the home; 3 children, Linda Kay Shadowen, Randy Tichenor and Robben L. Hughes; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 4 brothers, Jean, John, Ed and Charles Tichenor. He served in the US Air Force. R.L. has been a member of Northgate Baptist Church since 1967 and I always put the Lord first in his life. He has been a member of Masonic Lodge for 37 years, Scottish Rite, Ararat Shrine and Eastern Star. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, storytelling, gardening, golf and playing the piano. R.L. was an industrial engineer at Ford Motor, RO products, Sea-Tac (Kenworth) traveling from Kansas City, Washington and Northern Mexico. For the last 30 years he has been self employed at Acoustic Clean. He will be missed by his family, extended Masonic family and friends.
