Tom R. Watson Jr. of Cheyenne passed away Feb. 6 at home.

He was born March 19, 1926, in Alliance, Neb., and had lived in Cheyenne since 1964.

He married the love of his life, Beverly June Falfar, in June 1948.

Mr. Watson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He owned and operated Sidles Company with his son, Jerry.

He loved to golf and was a member of the Cheyenne Country Club. He was past president and board member of both the Airport Golf Club and the Cheyenne Country Club. He also served as president and board member of the Cheyenne Air Force Association and Cheyenne Optimist Club and served as district lt. governor for the Optimist club.

He was a member of the Military Affairs Committee of the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce. He also served on the board at American National Bank.

He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and father-in-law.

He is survived by his son, Jerry Watson; daughter, Terry Hibbs (Casey); brother, Gene Watson; granddaughter, Kim Modesitt; great-grandson, Michael Pixley (Janelle Moye); and a great-great-grandson, Michael Scott Pixley.

Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly J. (Falfar) Watson on Aug. 1, 2006; a sister, Katherine Chambers; his father, Tom R. Watson Sr.; and his mother, Ruth (McCormick) Matlock.
