Peggy Hughes Cumbee, 67, of Awendaw, SC, died Saturday morning at her residence.
Mrs. Cumbee was born October 7, 1946, in Mt. Vernon, SC, a daughter of Howard Hughes and Myrtle Prince Hughes Dabaghian.
She was an active member of the Awendaw Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 15 years. Mrs. Cumbee loved the Lord with all of her heart. She also enjoyed fishing, traveling, and going to yard sales.
She was survived by her husband, Ernest B. "Brantley" Cumbee; her mother of Awendaw; a daughter, Wendy M. Taylor of Andrews; two sons, Ernest B. "Brad" Cumbee III, and Kenny Cumbee both of Awendaw; three sisters, Mildred Rabon of Georgetown, Wanda Holly of Ladson, and Linda Hughes of Awendaw; three brothers, Glen Hughes of Awendaw, Craig Hughes of Georgetown, and Eddie Hughes of Hanahan; ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, February 18, 2014, in Awendaw Baptist Church. Burial, directed by Dial Murray Funeral Home of Moncks Corner, followed in Wilson Cemetery.
