Paul Neeley Kidwell, 87, of Robinson, IL died at 12:13 p.m. (E.S.T.), Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN.

He was born June 28, 1926 in Robinson, IL, the son of Frank Sandford Kidwell and Eva Alice Neeley Kidwell.

He was graduate of Robinson High School in 1944. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific where he was in communications having served on the USS Washburn.

Paul was a mail carrier for the U. S. Postal Service for 28 years. He was life member of the Robinson V. F. W. Post 4549, and the Robinson American Legion #69.

Paul was a steel guitarist. He and Janet appeared with Jack Noel and the Happy Valley Folks on WTTV4 in the 1950s through the 1960s. He also played in many local bands including Bob Cross and the Country Boys, and Ennis and the Outlaws.

He married Janet "Cousin Jenny" Miller on December 14, 1947 and she preceded him in death on April 22, 1982. He married Donna Fry Hudson in 2002 and she preceded him in death in 2004. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Roy L. Kidwell.; and his son-in-law, Don Page.

Paul is survived by his daughters , Judy Page and Karen Oakes; his son, Steven Kidwell; and his grandchildren, Steven and Rachel Kidwell, Justin and Amanda Miller, Oblong, Rob and Jennifer Bower and Stephanie Oakes; his great grandchildren, Emma, Sophia, Grace and Brayden, several nieces and nephews; and his partner, Hazel Gaddis.

Funeral services were held at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson.

Burial was in the Robinson New Cemetery.

Military services were conducted by the combined units of the Robinson American Legion Post 69, Robinson V.F. W. Post 69, Palestine Am Vets Post #33 and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132.
