South Sioux City - Kevin Joseph Watkins, 59, of South Sioux City, passed away Sunday, 6 Oct. 2013, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Waterbury Funeral Services in Sergeant Bluff, Iowa with the Rev. Michael Erpelding officiating, & a military flag presentation by the U.S. Navy. Kevin was born 31 Aug. 1954, in Sioux City, the son of Hollas N. & Doris A. (Chase) Watkins Jr. He attended St. Boniface Grade School & graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in 1972. Upon graduation, he became a member of the U.S. Navy stationed in Hawaii & San Diego. During his time in the service, he married Debbie Marshall, & they had 3 children. They later divorced. Kevin worked for several different marketing companies & department stores during his lifetime.
Kevin was a loving caring man, who was very family oriented. He liked to fish & watch football on television, & enjoyed being a beach bum.
Survivors include his mother, Doris Watkins of Sioux City, his 3 sons, Christopher (Isabel) of California, Freeman (Christy) of Sioux City & Jeremy of Tennessee; 4 brothers, Steve of South Sioux City, David & Tom, both of Sioux City, & Jeff of Tea, S.D.; 5 sisters, Mary Saunders of South Sioux City, Susan Moore of Wisconsin, Carrie Rustin of Sioux City, Judy Kunze of Underwood, IA. & Julie Carrier of Sioux City; & 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father; 2 brothers, Timothy & John; & a sister, Terri.
