Bobby was born November 10, 1938, in Macon County, Georgia. He graduated from Oglethorpe High School in 1956, and went on to earn a B.S. degree in Business Administration/Economics from Valdosta State University in 1960. He worked as the Executive Director of the Middle Flint Regional Development Commission for over 30 years until he retired in 2002. Bobby was a strong man of faith and was devoted to the Lord, his wife and his family. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, and spending time with family. He was most recently a member of Central Baptist Church.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents John Madison and Fran Hendricks Lowe of Garden Valley, GA, and parents-in-law John Deward and Evelyn Joiner Mays of Americus, GA.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 53 years Glenda of Americus; his son, Russ Lowe (Maggie) and children of Blue Ridge, GA; his daughter Tracy (Steve) and children of Thomasville, GA; his son Roger (Melissa) and children of Americus, GA; and stepmother Evelyn F. Mays of Americus, GA.
He is also survived by sisters of Butler, GA; brothers ) of Stone Mountain, GA, and of Sedro Wooley, WA, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Central Baptist Church in Americus on June 21, 2013, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Hugh DeLoach and Rev. Bryan Myers officiating. Burial followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
