Ethel Louise Burnsed Rainey Mock was born October 1, 1926 in Savannah, Chatham County, Georgia. She resided in Savannah her entire life. She was the second of seven children (and first daughter) of Arthur F. Burnsed, Sr. and Maybelle McClelland Burnsed and grew up on Bonaventure Road. Louise married Joe Seaburn Rainey, Sr. (buried in Alamo Memorial Gardens in Alamo, Wheeler County, Georgia), a World War II veteran, and they had eight children: Linda Rainey Mosley, Margie Rainey Atkinson, Susie Rainey Evans, Mary Rainey Roberds, Dollie Rainey Reed, May Rainey Wiley, Joe Seaburn Rainey, Jr., and Howard Rainey. Sometime after her first husband's death in 1968, she remarried to a Mr. Mock. Louise died at age 80 on April 2, 2007 in Savannah and is buried in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery in Savannah. Her funeral was at Dean Forest Baptist Church where she was a member. At the time of her death she had 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Louise's ancestry was Scots, Scots-Irish, English, German, and Native American (Lumbee). I hope someone will add a photo of Louise to this site.

Most of this information comes from her cousins, Kathleen Bell Neely and Lois Bell Myatt. Any errors, however, are mine alone. Please go to the "edit" link on this site with any corrections or additions. If a closer relative would like to manage this site, just let me know.
