Funeral services for Mrs. Arline Emerson Bailey of 806 Wheeler Street, St. Marys, Georgia, will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. St. Joseph United Methodist Church, 925 Spearing Street, Jacksonville, Florida, The Rev. Clifford T. Patrick, officiating. Mrs. Bailey passed away June 19, 2001, in the Mariner Nursing Home, Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Bailey was a native and long time resident of St. Marys, Georgia where she was a former schoolteacher. She retired as supervisor of the Gilman household after many years of dedicated service. She was a lifetime member of Greater Trinity United Methodist Church St. Marys, Georgia, Rev. Henry Joyner, Pastor. She served as the church musician, trustee, usher, Sunday School teacher, and worked in all areas of the church. She was a lifetime member of the Camden County Chapter #191 Order of Eastern Star. Her husband, Julian Lee Bailey, and an infant daughter from a previous marriage Hilda Oneal Armstrong predeceased her. Survivors include 2 adopted daughters Estelle Walker (Arthur) St. Marys, GA., Yvonne Bradley, Jacksonville, Fla. 9 grand and several great grand children. Nephews, Esley Baker (Ruth), Dr. Jordan Emerson Baker, Sr. (Rubye), Jacksonville, Florida. Nieces, Eleanor Spivey Denagall, Dr. Amanda Asgill, Mary Jane Asgill, Jacksonville, Fla. Irene Fortino, Tampa, Fla., Irvena Prymus, St. Petersburg, Fla., Ardelia Spivey Thomas (Jessie) Wilbraham, Mass., Merita Spivey Gray, Springfield, Mass., Nannie O. Smith, Baltimore, Maryland, and Teresa Asgill, Rochdale, England. Several grand and great grand nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins and friends. Mrs. Arline Bailey will rest in the mortuary for the visitation of friends on Tuesday, June 26, 2001, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The family has asked the cortege to assemble at 4921 Rhode Island Drive South by 9:45 a.m. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Marys, Georgia.
