Nancy was born May 3, 1935, in Quanah to C.W. And Ribble Marsalis. She graduated from Amarillo High School. Nancy married Larry G. Gillespie on Aug. 11, 1955, in Amarillo.
During the 1960s, she was a single mom, while her husband Larry was serving two deployments in Vietnam. She loved her children and adored her grandchildren. She deeply missed the love of her life, Larry G. Gillespie, who preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2013, but now she is with him again.
She also loved the Lord with all of her heart and would tell her children, "I don't need my kids to keep up with my cane anymore!"
She was preceded in death by her parents, C.W. and Ribble Marsalis; her husband, Larry G. Gillespie; and a grandson, Kenneth Gillespie.
Survivors include her children, Cynthia Gillespie of Amarillo, Tracey G. Gillespie and wife Jackie of Durango, Colo., and Suzanne Anderson of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Amber Coleman and Justin Eckbledt, both of Amarillo, and Cory Gillespie of Durango, Colo.; a great-grandson, Colten Brax of Amarillo; and a brother: Tony Marsalis and wife Kay-Ann of Fort Worth.
