m/1st Elizabeth Downs 15 Apr 1823, in Amite County, MS. She was mother of the nine older children.
m/2nd Julia A Bell 06 Jan 1848, in Amite County, MS. They had three children. After Lewis passed away, Julia married 19 Apr 1859, Amite Co, to Caswell McGehee, son of Lewis' brother, David McGehee. Julia and Lewis' three children are found in the 1860 household of Caswell. She passed away before the 1870 census and had remarried.
