The funeral service for Janice Rae of Wadena will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Wadena, with Jim Stoneman presiding. Friends may call at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Janice passed away at the age of 75, on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at the Centra Care Hospital in St. Cloud, MN.
Janice was born to J. Reuben and Charmaine June (Faehnrich) Westad in Bertha, MN, on August 30, 1938. She attained her Bachelor of Science degree in 1960, at Moorhead State University, and became an E.E.G. technician, and later, worked as a home health care provider. Janice married Jack G. Morrison on August 26, 1961, and they were later divorced. She retired in 2007. Janice always found joy being in the fresh air as she worked in her beautiful flower gardens, and she had a flair for experimenting with recipes. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Wadena.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law Karen "Kay" Johnson; and brother-in-law Alan Squier.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa ( Michael) Hubbard of Roseburg, OR; grandchildren Aspen Hubbard and Savanna Hubbard; brothers Robert (Karen) of Litchfield, MN, Lester "Pete" (Lynne) of Tennessee, and John (Barbara) of Lake George, MN; sisters Sharon Squier of Wadena, Nadine (Donald) Myers of White Bear Lake, MN, Christine (Mike) Eastman of Jonesburg, MO, and Julie (Richard) Johnson of Bemidji, MN; brother-in-law Walter "Bud" Johannsen of Lake George, MN; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Bertha, MN.
