Her stage name was "Garbo" and she headlined as a star dance soloist at many legendary nightclubs like the legendary Cotton Club, Rhumboogie, Bal Tabarin, and Jade Restaurant. She also was a star dancer in Duke Ellington's groundbreaking musical/comedy "Jump For Joy" that also starred Dorothy Dandridge. Dorothea also appeared in legendary African American Hollywood films "Cabin In The Sky" and "Stormy Weather" with Lena Horne, Duke Ellington, Bill Bojangles Robinson, Sammy Davis Jr., Katherine Dunham, Fats Waller and Eddie Rochester. Dorothea also danced in African American musical numbers featured in Hollywood films such as, "The Duke Is Tops" "New Faces of 1937" "Vogues of 1938" "Star Spangled Rhythm" "Hit Parade of 1943" and appeared in other films as an exotic type like "Arabian Nights." Dorothea also modeled for Bernard of Hollywood who photographed some of the most famous Hollywood stars of the day.
