Johnnie McGee Cook, 72, 1317 Dickson St., Bamberg, died Thursday, June 13, 2012, at Morningside of Orangeburg.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, in Cooner Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dwight Brazzwell officiating. Burial will follow in the South End Cemetery.

Mr. Cook was born July 11, 1939, in Bamberg, to the late Nathan Cook and Mary Jones. He was a member of Word of Life Pentecostal Holiness Church. He was retired a retired machine operator in the textile industry. He enjoyed sports, the Edisto River, and loved to fish. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

Survivors include a brother, Carl and Clarice Cook of Bamberg; a sister, Mary and Jack Cheek of Ponto Beach, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Charlie, Travis and Nathan Cook.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, June 15, one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorials may be made to the Word of Life Pentecostal Holiness Church, 85 North Street, Bamberg, SC, 29003.
