Orville Truman Lee, formerly of East Grand Forks, died August 6th in Mandan ND and donated his body to ScienceCare for medical research.
He was born June 16, 1933 to Gunder and Bella (Sannes) Lee and baptized in Bygland Lutheran Church and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in East Grand Forks. He attended grade school in Bygland and graduated from East Grand Forks Central High School. He worked as a plumber and pipefitter until his retirement in 1996.
He is survived by his wife Shirley (Berger) Lee, Mandan ND, four step-children Tim, Tamme, Terry and Ted, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, sisters Mildred Lee Smith, Bemidji MN, Thelma (Wayne) Frovarp, Rathdrum ID, Bev Luettjohann, Sun City AZ, Gladys (Roger) Sondrol, River Falls WI, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Delores, brothers Kenneth and Norman, two infant brothers and two grandchildren.
Full Honor Military Rites (US Army 1953-55) will be held at the burial of Orville Truman Lee on Wednesday September 14, 2011 at 3:00 pm at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND. A marker will be placed in his Honor, at a later date, at the Bygland Lutheran Church Cemetery, Bygland MN, near other family veterans. A memorial service was held August 10th at First Lutheran Church in Mandan.
