Son of Gordon Malcolm Hayden (1894–1980) & Ruth Rumford Hayden (1900–1979).

Charles served as a Aviation Radioman Third Class on Peter 11 Bureau #48126, Patrol Squadron 213, U.S. Navy during World War II.

Patrol Squadron 213 was based at Harvey Point, North Carolina.

He resided in Rockingham County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

Charles was declared "Missing In Action" in a night training mission off the coast of North Carolina during the war.

He should be listed, but isn't, at the East Coast Memorial, Manhattan, New York.
