         Lester Peterson Dies Saturday

      Lester R. Peterson, 59, of 427 North First Street, died Saturday at the Samaritan hospital, St. Paul.
      A lifetime resident, he was born here, March 19, 1912, and was chief yard clerk for the Burlington-Northern Railway Co. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Legion Post 255, the 40 and 8, a veteran of World War ll and retired member of the 194th Tank Battalion.
      Surviving are his wife, Gladys; three sons, Robert of Nashville, Tenn., Richard in the Air Force and George in the Navy; his mother, Mrs. Robert Peterson of Brainerd; a sister, Mrs. M.D. (Midge) Olson of Brainerd; four grandchildren.
      Funeral services are planned Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Halvorson-Johnson Funeral home, the Rev. C.E. Hoversten officiating and burial in Evergreen cemetery with military rites by Post 255.
