DEATH OF MRS. FOLAND

Another Pioneer of Palouse Gone to Great Unknown

Mrs. Ella Foland, a pioneer of the Palouse Country, died Sunday morning of pneumonia at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Larrick, aged 52 years, 4 months, and 2 days, having been born in Anderson, Madison County, Indiana, December 24, 1855.

She was married to George W. Foland in February 1877. They went to Portland, Oregon, the same year. In 1878 they moved to The Dalles and soon after came to the Palouse Country.

Mrs. Foland's husband died in October 1894. Two sons, Carl P. Foland and Frank Foland, remain, also a number of relatives in the east.

Funeral services were held at the Methodist church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the sermon being preached by the pastor, Rev. H.B. Elworthy. The services were largely attended. The Rebekahs and Ladies of the Circle took charge of the remains at the grave. Interment took place in Colfax Cemetery.
