This little 14" X 14", slant backed, grey veined marble stone was so worn in 1987 that only the name could be read.
It was loose from the base and a niece of this baby, who is a glass maker and artist, took it to her sandblasting studio, made a charcoal rubbing, rubber masked it, recut the writing and reblasted the antique carving.
Because of the softness of the stone, it has continued to erode during the ensuing 25 years.
Tiny Winfred Haze O'Brien was the infant brother of the artists' mother, Rachel Eliza O'Brien.
Winfred was the first born of 6 sons and 2 daughters in this family. His siblings have all joined him, as of 2012.
