Harold C. Hampton, age 86, passed away Friday April 6, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 8, 1925 in Tampa, FL and moved to Arcadia with his family as a small boy. He is of the Baptist faith and a member of Gardner Baptist Church.

Harold served our Country during WWII in the United States Army.

He was an avid hunter and enjoyed going to his hunting camp in the Everglades with family and friends, Camp Wet foot. Harold also liked gardening, his animals and listening to gospel and county music.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Rachel M. Hampton of Arcadia, two sons Charles "Chuck"(Cynthia) Hampton and James R. (Linda) Hampton all of Arcadia, FL.; two daughters Mary Ann (Roland) Wilson of Arcadia and Susan (Lance) Beckham of Pompano Beach, FL.; fourteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leland and Mary Coker Hampton.

A visitation will be held Monday, April 9, 2012 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes, 50 N. Hillsborough Ave., Arcadia.

Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 11:00AM at the chapel with Dr. Harold E. Brown officiating.

Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Arcadia.

Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Homes are in charge of the arrangements.
