Services for Gail Wood Bennett, age 66, of Elkhart, Texas will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Elkhart with Rev. Bill Gernenz officiating. Burial in Pilgrim Cemetery is under the direction of Bailey & Foster. Mrs. Bennett died February 11, 2014, at Palestine Regional Medical Center. She was born October 8, 1947 in Waco, Texas to T.W. and Marguerite Wood. She was retired from TDCJ where she worked for the pardons and parole office. She loved fishing, reading, antiquing and spending time with her grandchildren. Gail was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Constable Larry Bennett of Elkhart, mother-in-law Geneva Bennett of Elkhart, daughter Sarah King and husband Chris of Katy, two sisters Vicky Morris and husband Hollis of China Spring, and Virginia Wood of White Settlement, three brothers, Ray Germany and wife Dee of Abilene, Pat Germany and wife Carol of Waco, and John Germany of Melbourne, FL, two grandsons, Kyle King and Colton King.
