GALVESTON— Sarah passed away unexpectedly at age 35, Tuesday morning, July 12, 2011, at UTMB in Galveston.

Sarah was a cherished wife, new mother, and adored as a daughter, sister, aunt and granddaughter. She will be remembered and missed for her witty humor, contagious laugh, sparkling eyes, deeply loving heart, friendly demeanor and dedication to children and animals. She filled her family gatherings with joy and laughter and could make a stranger feel welcome in minutes.

Sarah dreamt of being a mother, a dream finally fulfilled in Graycen David Garcia, born July 10, 2011. Graycen will be loved and cherished by Sarah’s husband and family.

Sarah was born on February 22, 1976, in Lansing, Michigan to Cynthia (Cindy) Fountain-Guelfi of Galveston.

Surviving Sarah are her husband David Garcia; new baby boy Graycen, and beloved dog Sam; parents Cindy and Paul Guelfi; grandparents Arlis and Oren Fountain of Pickford, MI; sisters Tammy, Cindy, Andreana, Emiliana, Mary, Kelsee; brother Zeb, and their respective spouses; David’s sister Linda and brother-in-law JJ of Bryan, Texas; Sarah’s nieces and nephews, Joshua, Hannah, Samuel, Emiliana, Nicholas and Noble.

Sarah spent much of her life in the Galveston area and attended the College of the Mainland and the University of Houston-Clear Lake where she studied Elementary Education.

Sarah’s visitation and service will be held at Carnes Brothers Funeral Home 1201 Tremont in Galveston. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 17th and the funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 18.

Internment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Galveston. Following the services there will be a Life Celebration for family and friends in the Greeting Atrium at Moody Memorial First United Methodist Church, 2803 53rd St, Galveston.

Monetary donations may be made in Sarah’s name to the Galveston SPCA.
