During the Civil War, Andrew served as a Wagoner with Company C, 6th Regiment, Vermont Infantry from October 15, 1861 through June 26, 1865. He later became a member of the George C. Randall Post of the Grand Army of the Republic.
On May 29, 1866, Andrew and Submit Edgerton married in Woodstock, Vermont. The couple lived in Plymouth, Vermont.
After Submit died, Andrew lived with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Maxham in Bridgewater Corners.
A death announcement was published in the Spirit of the Age (Woodstock, Vermont) on February 29, 1908.
