Died at his home in the town of Stockbridge on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 1901, of old
age, R. B. Mendel, aged 85 years and 5 months.
Mr. Mendal was born in Ohio, March 9th, 1816. He came to Chilton in 1851 and to
Stockbridge in 1876, where he resided until the angel of death called him to
that Borne from whence no traveler returns. He was a man held in the highest
esteem by his neighbors and friends. Besides a widow he leaves one son, Geo.
Mendel of Appleton; and four daughters, Mrs. H. O. Dudley of this place; Mrs. H.
K. Kayhart of Dorchester; Mrs. Wm. Ward of Marshfield, and Mrs. J. W. Flower of
Green wood; and a host of friends to mourn his death.
The funeral will take place from the house at 10 a.m. on Friday.
