Virginia Barbara Hepner Ryan, 92, of Timberville, Virginia, died Monday, February 10, 2014, at Timber View Crossing in Timberville.

She was born July 29, 1921, in Timberville, VA, the daughter of the late Thomas Jackson and Effie Orebaugh Hepner.

Virginia worked at the Eileen plant before retiring. She was a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Timberville. She was a lifelong Democrat.

On December 21, 1940, she married Rodney Robert Ryan, who preceded her in death March 14, 2009.

Surviving are one son, Carroll Rodney Ryan and wife, Cheryl, of Timberville; one daughter, Nancy Ryan Runion and husband, Derwood, of Timberville; four grandchildren, Michael A. Runion, Julie Runion Ritchie, Eric O. Ryan and Patrick O. Ryan; and six great-grandchildren, Brandon Lee Runion, Tanner Jordan Runion, Logan Scott Ritchie, Austin Cole Ritchie, Mia Rose Ryan and Asher O'Neil Ryan.

Her brother, Stanley O Hepner, and half sister, Anna Catherine Hepner Andrick, preceded her in death.

The Rev. Joel Walkley will conduct a funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke's United Church of Christ with burial will be in St. Luke's U.C.C. Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway. The casket will be closed.
