Mr. Jack Haisten of Headland passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 in a Dothan hospital after a short illness. He was 95. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, February 14, 2014, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Jerry Glover and Reverend Jerome Harbert officiating. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 to 2 P.M. Friday, February 14, 2014. The family ask that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Hebron Baptist Church in Columbia, Al. Mr. Haisten was born January 26, 1919. He served in the US Navy and was a member and Deacon of Newton Baptist Church most of his life. He was presently a member of Hebron Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mabel Haisten of 54 years, parents, Myrtle and Marvin Haisten, 3 sisters, Annie Kathryn Trawick, Louise Enfinger, Voncille Richburg, 2 brothers, Pat Haisten and Marvin Haisten, Jr., and a daughter Sara Wheeler. Survivors include son, Jackie Haisten, daughter, Betty (Rex) Granberry, son-in-law, Bob Wheeler, 2 sisters, Doris Enfinger and Joanne (Bill) Pritchett, 6 grandchildren, Ashley (Deborah) Wheeler, Jessica (Robin) Moore, Kathy Ruble, Brad (Kim) Hardy, Clay (Amy) Hardy, Lane Hardy, 11 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be the grandsons and great-grandsons.
