Mrs. Ramsey's family will receive friends Thursday from 4pm to 7pm and again on Friday from 10 am until service time at the funeral home.
Doris passed away on Monday morning February 10, 2014 at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation-Masters in Algood.
She was born July 2, 1927 in Moodyville, TN in Pickett Co. to the late Clinton Johnnie and Delma Raines Storie.
Doris was a member of Cookeville First Baptist Church.
She made many friends at Morningside Assisted Living, Cedar Hills Assisted Living and Kindred Transitional Care and Rehab-Masters. She crocheted many blankets for the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Cookeville and scarves for many others.
Her family includes an only daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Richard Thornton of Cookeville; two grandsons, Reed Ramsey Thornton and wife, Christy of Mt. Juliet, TN and Richard Tate Thornton, JR of Cookeville; She has three great-grandchildren, Reed's daughters, Hollie, Brittany, and Chloe; a brother, Cyril Storie of Cookeville; and sister, Rose Hill of Dayton, OH.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Her daughter wishes to thank the staff at Masters Health Care and Dr Kathy Bertram for their loving support. She also especially thanks Cookeville First Baptist Church for their years of prayers, cards, and visits.
