Scott Leroy Foster, 52, of Pine City, died Monday, April 29, 2013 near Bear Ridge hunting shack near Duxbury, Minn.

He was born to Robert and Helen Foster, May 10, 1960, at Kanabec County Hospital in Mora, Minn.

He graduated from Pine City High School in 1978 and received an Associate of Arts degree from Minneapolis Community College in 1984.

He was employed by C&S Blacktopping, Inc. for over 20 years and, since, produced plat drawings and was involved in insurance and real estate, holding licenses for each, and appraisals. For a time, he also worked at St. Croix State Park, east of Hinckley, Minn.

Scott is survived by one child, Abby Cooper, and one granddaughter, Olivia Reed, both of Minneapolis.

He is also survived by his mother, Helen Foster of Pine City; siblings Robert Foster, Jr. (Judy) of Grasston, Thomas Foster (Angie) of Pine City, and Wendy Johnson (Randy) of Pine City; six nephews and one niece; one great nephew and two great nieces; and many friends and family members.

He was predeceased by father Robert Foster and his brother, Gregory Foster.

Scott loved Gopher wrestling, among other sports, and fantasy football. His competitive nature made him love to win at cards and other games--everything from Risk, Monopoly, and Trivial Pursuit to air hockey, pinball, foosball and darts. He loved to spend time watching movies, hunting, fishing, riding ATVs, debating politics and discussing world affairs and reading the Bible. His vices were hot dogs, chips and Coke – and his beloved Hot Tamales.

Scott loved to see an accomplishment. He loved to mow, clear brush, plant trees, establish trails, chain saw – anything that would show him a finished product he could admire.

Scott had an especially big heart. He loved spending time with family and held a special place in his heart for his daughter, Abby. He spoiled his nieces and nephews, especially at Christmas and Easter. He would spend a great deal of money winning them stuffed animals at contests in the fair midway. He lit up when he spent time with his granddaughter, Livy, taking her to the park and dressing her in varying outfits for photographs.

Scott was a lifetime member of the NRA, Bear Ridge Hunting Club and he was a Golden Gopher booster.

Services were held Saturday, May 4 at 11:30 a.m. at the Lighthouse in Pine City. The officiant was Pastor Joel Preston.

The funeral home in charge of arrangements was Swanson Funeral Chapel of Pine City.
