Anna Inez Hendrick Burd "Tottie", of Roanoke and Wirtz, VA, passed away February 10, 2014.
Tottie was the beloved wife of Doug, who left her to go to Heaven, January 10, 1988 after 45 years together.
They were the proud parents of Sidney Burd, and Kelly Deane Burd-Adams, and W.C. Adams, Jr., their son-in-law, who was more like a son.
After Tottie retired from Hollins College, she and Doug moved to Smith Mountain Lake where they loved to fish and work in the yard; visit and help others who were unable to care for themselves.
Mother was the great encourager and gave of her time, talents and resources to help others.
She was a member of Mt. Ivy Christian Church.
Other survivors include 2 of her sisters; Dr. Jeanie Burnett, and Anita Myers, a special Godson: Mark Burnett, and an Aunt, Estelle Porter. She leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends. Donations in remembrance may be made to your favorite charity. According to her wishes there will be no services.
