Debra Franklin, 47, of Bluff City, Tennessee, died on Monday, November 20, 2006, at the Wellmont Hospice House. She was born on Monday, April 27, 1959 in Indiana, Pennsylvania to James and Beatrice Ireland. She was a graduate of Indiana High School, Class of 1977. She worked as a manager of food services at Mary Hughes Elementary/Middle School and was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She loved antiques, gardening, ebay and the Beatles. She enjoyed the Elizabethton Saturday night Cruise-In with three special couples. She was a very special person that cared about people, loved her family, friends and had several pen pals throughout the world. She was a great wife, mother, and an inspiration to all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, Anthony "Tony" Franklin; her sons, Ryan Franklin, Jason Franklin and Joshua Franklin, all of the home; her sister, Pamela Myers and her husband, Scott, of Bluff City, Tennessee; her brother, Dennis Ireland and his wife, Mary, of Piney Flats, Tennessee; several nieces, nephews and special friends, Joyce Long, Billie Stewart, Julie Bowers, Connie Manz and Freida Jones.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Gerry Boccarossa, the cafeteria staff at Mary Hughes School, and the staff of 2 West at Bristol Regional Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send memorial contributions to Wellmont Hospice House, 280 Steeles Road, Bristol, Tennessee, 37620 or the Bristol Cancer Association, 1225 W.
