US Congressman. Elected to represent Oklahoma's 1st District in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1945 to 1949, and 1951 to 1952. He was defeated as Republican in 1948. He also served as a Member of the Oklahoma State House of Representatives from 1918 to 1922, Speaker of the Oklahoma State House of Representatives from 1921 to 1922, and Delegate to the Republican National Convention in 1920 as Alternate, and in 1936 as Delegate.
