OBITUARY-
ADAMS -- The funeral for Orville Jureen Knutson will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams, with the Revs. Allen Gunderson and Donna Joseph co-officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Knutson, 86, of Adams, a longtime area farmer, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999 at Austin Medical Center.
Born March 17, 1912, in Mower County, he moved with his family to a farm northeast of Adams at age 1. He grew up there, graduated from Adams High School in 1930 and played trumpet and clarinet in the high school band. He farmed in the area all his adult life and purchased the family farm in 1964. In addition, he was an substitute school bus driver and seed corn dealer. Mr. Knutson was a member of Little Cedar Lutheran Church, served as an usher and on the church council, and was active in choir in his younger years. He enjoyed welding, fixing machinery, hunting, fishing, trapping and photography.
Survivors include a sister, Myrtle Knudson of Austin. A sister preceded him in death. Friends may call at the church from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and an hour before the service Monday. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
