OBITUARY-
The funeral for Lillie Evelyn Weness will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams with the Revs. Allen Gunderson and Donna Joseph co-officiating. Burial will be in Little Cedar Lutheran Cemetery.
Mrs. Weness, 86, of Adams, a homemaker and former doctor's assistant, died Thursday, March 4, 1999 at Rochester Methodist Hospital.
Lillie Evelyn Halverson was born Feb. 16, 1913, in Adams, graduated from Adams High School in 1930 and attended Marshall Lutheran Church. On March 8, 1939, she married Clifford Weness at her parentsU farm home. She was a homemaker and, after her children were grown, was a cook at a local restaurant for several years, a nurse's aide at Meadow Manor Nursing Home in Grand Meadow for more than 10 years and an assistant at Dr. Schneider's clinic in Adams about 10 years. Her husband died in 1997. Mrs. Weness was a member of Little Cedar Lutheran Church and its ladies aid and circles. She enjoyed baking, reading, flowers and playing dominos.
Survivors include two sons, Robert of Le Roy and David of Adams; a daughter, Linda (Mrs. Doug) Johnson of Dexter; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Myrtle Asper of Adams, Alice Lindquist of St. Paul and Leone (Mrs. Orland) Krug of Hernando, Fla.; and a brother, Maurice Halverson of Rose Creek. Five brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Little Cedar Lutheran Church from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.. Sunday and an hour before the service Monday. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
