Born in Adams Township. Little Cedar Church baptism records list his sponsors as Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Johnson, Cora Amble and Andrew Skarsbo.

The funeral for Clifford N. Weness will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 11, 1997, at 1:30 PM at Little Cedar Lutheran Church in Adams with the Rev. Allen Gunderson officiating. Music was provided by Pat Hinz, organist and Dee Hamilton, soloist. Honorary bearers were Nick Reinartz, Ellis Lukens, William Wiste. Bearers were Robert Lewison, Merritt Wiste, Jerry Wiste, Erlin Weness, Ed Wolf, Gary Weness. Burial will be in Little Cedar Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Weness, 82, of Adams, a retired farmer, died Tuesday (July 8, 1997) at the Adams Health Care Center.

Born Nov. 14, 1914, in Adams, he graduated from Adams Public School in 1933 and then worked for Hormel Foods Corp. for a few years before going into farming. On March 8, 1939, he married Lillie Halverson at her home near Adams. They farmed south of Adams for a time, then near Elkton and then northeast of Adams from 1950 until his retirement. He and his wife moved to Adams in 1967. Mr. Weness was a member of Little Cedar Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert of Le Roy and David of Adams; a daughter, Linda (Mrs. Doug) Johnson of Dexter; five grandchildren; a sister, Daisy Hanson of Adams; and two brothers, Earl of Adams and Kenneth of Melvin, Iowa. Two brothers preceded him in death.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Adams Funeral Home and an hour before the service Friday at the church.
