Information from Little Cedar Lutheran Church, written in 1983:
Clara Marie Reis Watros was born February 9, 1903, in Howard County, Iowa. She was one of six children growing up on a farm. She left at the young age of 14, going to Cresco to learn the art of dressmaking. She also worked for a hotel. Later she moved to Minneapolis and worked at the Leamington Hotel before her marriage to Ivan Watros. They bought a grocery store in Davis Corners. Later they moved to Dexter and another grocery store - then to Adams. Their five children are Dona, Jean, Jerry, Charles and Kay. Clara Always had a talent for cooking and sewing. She's sewn many garments not only for her family, but, quite a few townsfolk as well. She started cooking at the school in 1950 and continued 17 years. Clara and Ivan moved to LeRoy in 1981 when Ivan became ill. Clara misses Adams terribly, but, her family is grateful to have her closer to them. She still enjoys making quilts which she gives away and baking which she also gives away. She still does cookies and rolls better than anyone!
