Husband of Florence Elizabeth Williams
Robert Dale Hohman, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, age 69, passed away Thursday, April 30, 1998 in Layton following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born August 8, 1928 in Blackfoot, Idaho, a son of Max Edward and Cora Ellen Peterman Bussinger Hohman. Robert married Florence Elizabeth Williams, June 27, 1953 in Layton. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 2, 1964.
Robert was raised and educated in Dubois, Idaho, graduated from Idaho State University, and had lived in Layton since 1952.
He was a High Priest in the Snow Canyon Ward. He retired from H.A.F.B. in 1981 after 32 years of service. He was the District Manager for North Davis Treatment plant for 12 years. He also worked as a realtor.
Robert was a member of the Layton Chamber of Commerce, was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time with family, hunting, fishing, boating and camping. He loved spending time in his cabin at Bear Lake.
He served his country in the Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Florence of Layton; one son, Robert W. (Leslie) Hohman, North Ogden; two daughters, Linda (Michael) Wood, and Bonnie (Layne) Sackett, both of Layton; nine grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Frank Hohman, California and two sisters, Gladys (Floyd) Hensley, Idaho, and Louise (Lloyd) Stephenson, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, one brother, and one sister.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 5, 1998 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Road, with Bishop David Moss officiating. Viewing will be held on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment Kaysville City Cemetery.
