SCALDED TO DEATH
Brainerd Dispatch (27 December 1915):
Falling into a dishpan of hot water, Clyde Gilmer, aged about 3, son Mr. and Mrs. John Gilmer, was scalded and died about 18 hours later. The baby had been playing in the kitchen and the mother had just set the pan on the floor and was about to mop when the youngster fell into it. She took off the steaming clothes and the skin adhered to the same. Doctors were immediately summoned and everything possible was done to save the little fellow. He suffered great pain and passed away about 4 o'clock Sunday morning. The sympathy of the whole community is extended to the family.
