JOHN H. "PETE" DARE, 78, 216 Walnut, died Sunday, April 5, 1987.
Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Carter-Smart Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Pruitt officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
Born April 16, 1908, in Duncan, Dare was a lifetime resident of the community and an oil field worker. He married Fleta M. Tucker on July 15, 1929, in Marlow. Dare was a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Lillie Jo Winter of Decatur, Ala., and Nita M. Castellucis of Marietta, Ga.; a son, Billy Haskell Dare of Hobbs, N.M.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ron Moore, Danny Williams, Danny Porter, Terry Brown, Kenneth Bailey and F.L. Duesman.
