CROSS PLAINS -- Jessie Mae Woody Casey, 99 years, 3 months and 7 days, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at Brownwood Regional Medical Center in Brownwood. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Sunday, November 27, 2005 at Higginbotham Funeral Chapel in Cross Plains with Charles Chesshir officiating; burial will follow in the Cottonwood Cemetery.

She was born on August 16, 1906 in Potosi, Texas to James Anthony and Mary Mollie (McBride) Woody. Jessie graduated from High School in Cottonwood. She married Frances Casey on December 25, 1926 in Cottonwood. Jessie was a woman of many talents; she was a homemaker, a licensed plumber, she could do electrical work and was an avid quilter. She was a member of the Cross Plains Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sons, James U. Casey of Buffalo, MO; Jesse L. Casey of Idaho; Elmer Casey of Weatherford; Thomas Casey of Cisco; daughter, Frances Whiteley of Cross Plains; brother, Chuck Woody of Abilene; 19 grandchildren and numerous great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandchild, six brothers and three sisters. She will be missed by many.

Jessie was the third youngest of 11 children.
