She was the twin sister of Clara Conklin. Cora had black hair, and blue eyes.
She married Oscar Sherman Gillette on September 30, 1891, in Lawton, Van Buren County, Michigan. Their two witnesses were Frank Gillette and Clara Conklin, both of Lawton. Oscar was born in October 22, 1867 in Buchanan County, Iowa. He was the son of Corydon H. Gillett and Lucinda Sroufe.
According to the 1900 Census, Cora and Oscar, along with raising their son, also had Verona Rogers in their household. Verona is Cora's niece, daughter of Harriet.
Cora's childhood and married life were spent in Lawton, Michigan, and later in Williams Crossing, Michigan, and Jackson, Michigan, with her family. Her later years were spent in her home town of Lawton. Together, they had one child, Frank Clyde Gillette.
Cora and Oscar got divorced. They did however remarry on April 9, 1914, in Lawton, Van Buren County, Michigan.
Oscar, a retired railroad man, died on April 15, 1945 in Hartford Township, Van Buren County, Michigan. Cora died on April 25, 1946 in Lawton [or Hartford], Van Buren County, Michigan.
