James Lawrence Brett, born July 30, 1959, our beloved father, brother, uncle, grandpa, husband, and friend, passed away February 6, 2014 while surrounded by loved ones in Salt Lake City after a long battle with cancer. He was an avid Ham Radio enthusiast and an active member of the Sinbad Desert Amateur Radio Club. His call sign was NJ7B. He worked as an underground coal miner for over 30 years. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, riding ATVs, and sport shooting.
James is survived by his three sons: James H. Brett, Shane R. Brett, and Chad L. Brett; his wife, Tammie Cederholm; three sisters: Debbie Brett, Cristy Garay, and Pattie Monsen; two granddaughters, Amy Lynn and Azalia Mae; daughter-in-law, Jeanette Brett; and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James H. Brett, and his mother Katheryn Delores Vance.
His request was to be cremated with no service or viewing. He asked that his ashes be spread in an area close to the things he loved. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to a cancer research program of your choice. Arrangements are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Friends and family may sign the guestbook and share memories of James at www.fausettmortuary.com.
