Joseph (Joey) Reid Mangum, 27, died Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Greenville Memorial Medical Center.

Born in Greenville, Joey, was the son of the late Allison Smith (Sunny) Merrell.

He is survived by his father, James (Jim) C. Mangum, Jr. and his "Mom" Anne Campbell Mangum; a son, Mayer Reid Phillips Mangum, 3 brothers: Christopher T. (Chris) Merrell and wife, Michelle, of West Palm Beach, Fla., James Robert Mangum, Perry Henderson, Jr. and wife Lisa, William Henderson and a sister, Anne Marie Triplett and husband Jon, all of Greenville.

Joey was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Greenville. He attended Wade High School and Greenville Tech.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 2 p.m. at in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. in the church parlor.
