Robert “Bob” Burns Gould, 66, of Lapeer, died April 27, 2006. He was born March 31, 1940, in
Lapeer, to Alton J. and Frances E. (Hickie) Gould. He married Janet Pluff in Lapeer on February 17,
After high school, Bob served his country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. After attending the Flint Police
Academy, Bob became a Lapeer County Police Officer in 1964. He served for 25 years. He was a
member of the Blue Nights, Masons, Scottish Rites, Shriners, American Legion, and the VFW. He was a
security officer for LakeVille Schools. He was a process server, the Columbiaville Chief of Police, and
Deputy in North Branch. He also worked at Baird-Newton Funeral Home for 10 years and was a member
of many other organizations.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Janet; children, Teresa Hearty, Robert Burns (Deena) Gould, Jr.,
Toni K. (Tony) Nelson; grandchildren, William Thomas Huntwork, Crystal Kay Rogers, Emily Ann
Hammitt, Andrea Dawn Rogers, Elizabeth Ann Gould, Paul Andrew Nelson; 1 expected great-grandson;
siblings, Donald (Crystal) Gould, Judith Erwin, Ellen (Jerry Holmes) Gould; and many nieces and
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Frances Gould; brother, Thomas Owen Gould; and
brother-in-law, Paul Erwin.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 1, 2006, at Lynch and Sons Funeral Directors, Capstick
Chapel, downtown Lapeer. Pastor Paul Parker officiated. Burial was in Stiles Cemetery, Lapeer.
