Mr. Alvin Mason, 89 of Jonesboro, LA passed away Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the Veterans Home in Pineville. Mr. Mason served his country in the United States Army. He retired from the railroad where he worked as a lineman. He was a member of the Georgetown Masonic Lodge #480, Georgetown, Indiana and he was a Shriner. Masonic services will be conducted by the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge #280.
Friends may visit with the family Friday, February 14, 2014 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at Southern Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00PM in the Chapel with Reverend Stan Foster and Reverend Mike McNatt officiating.

Mason of Jonesboro, Delrose Dunn and husband Willie of Indiana, Manuel Mason and wife Janice of Indiana; grandchildren, Troy Mason and wife Dana of Jonesboro, Tamara Tolar and husband Patrick of Arkansas, Matthew Jackson of Jonesboro, Jonathan Jackson of Jonesboro, Angie Dunn and husband Jack, Sherry Thornberry and husband David, Daniel Dunn, Stacey Mason, Shawn Mason all of Indiana; eighteen great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Huckaby of Jonesboro, Doris Gordon and husband Willie Lee of Jonesboro.
