In memoriam of Pamela Barrett
08/14/1951 - 02/08/2014

Pamela Adams Barrett, 62, of Peachtree City, GA, passed away Friday, February 8, 2014 at her home following her battle with cancer.

She was a native of Atlanta, the daughter of William George and Mary L. Adams and sister Kay Adams Jordan who have preceded her in death.

Pam resided in Buckhead and attended North Fulton High School and West Georgia College until her marriage to her husband of 42 years, Major David H. Barrett in 1971.

She became an Army wife and enjoyed the years she spent in Wurtzburg and Heidelberg, Germany and subsequent travels throughout Europe. The Barrett family returned to Peachtree City in 1983 and have made this their home from that time.

Since becoming an empty-nester in 2000; Pam had been an active Realtor in the community, most recently with Keller Williams Realty. She has been honored for her achievements in her profession as well as loved by a long list of people she assisted throughout the years in buying or selling their homes. Her love of people and wonderful sense of humor made it a pleasant experience for most.

Pam's peers have recognized her as "one of a kind", always offering her help, sage advice, and funny stories to those new to the profession. In addition, Pam has been an animal advocate throughout the years and has found homes for many furry friends in need. She had a big heart for anything or anyone in need.

Pam is survived by her husband, Major David H. Barrett, retired; her daughter, Heather Downing and husband David of Peachtree City; her sons Steven Barrett of Newnan and Jonathan Barrett and wife Ashley of Fayetteville; her sister Jane Young and husband Ken of Peachtree City and her five precious grandchildren.

She was an exceptional woman, wife, mother, grandmother and friend and everyone loved her. She was a happy soul and the world was a better place having her in it. She will be dearly missed.

Family visitation will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Peachtree City from 4-6 PM.

Services will be in the Chapel at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 13. Burial will follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens in Peachtree City.
