Sylvia Ann "Sylvan" Thornton departed this life February 4, 2014, at Providence Hospital, Washington, DC.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Arthur; a daughter, Gwen; a son, Wallace (Peanut) Pleasants and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at C.W. Edwards Funeral Home, Bowling Green, VA from noon to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12 at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, 21795 Mattaponi Trail, Milford, VA 22514. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
