He was a member of Ellejoy Baptist Church. He was retired from Fowler Brothers Furniture Store in Knoxville and was a well known cattle trader in the area. He served in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley N. and Rachel S. Rogers and brother, William Harvey Rogers.
Survivors: sisters: Dorothy M. Rogers of Seymour, Norma Foxx of Maryville, Deloris A. Boatman of Seymour, and Geraldine (Earl) Ford of Seymour. Nieces and nephews: Pamela Ann (Jim) Maples, Debbie (Brad) Jackson, Robert (Mechelle) Boatman. Great Nephews: Sam Ingle and Shane Maples. Several cousins and many special friends.
Funeral service 7 p.m. Tuesday in Atchley's Seymour Chapel with Rev. James Lawhorn officiating. Interment 11 a.m. Wednesday in Ellejoy Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday at Atchly Funeral Home, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, Tennessee.
