“Ex-BR Woman Killed in Flying Lesson Crash”
A former Baton Rouge resident was killed in a plane crash Tuesday at Herford, Ariz., while taking a flying lesson.
The bodies of Mrs. Beverly Daigle Courtney and her flying instructor were found in the wreckage of the plane Wednesday morning, a relative of Mrs. Courtney said Thursday. The cause of the crash has not been determined.

Mrs. Beverly Daigle Courtney died Tuesday at Hereford, Ariz. She was 36, a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Sierra Vista, Ariz.
Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home Friday until religious services Saturday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, conducted by Msgr. Patrick Gillespie. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
She is survived by her husband, M.Sgt. Paul E. Courtney, Sr. of Sierra Vista; mother, Mrs. Rosa A. Daigle of Baton Rouge; three sons, Paul E. Courtney, Jr. and John and Mark Courtney, all of Sierra Vista; a sister, Mrs. Shirley Cifreo of Gonzales, four brothers, Calvin Daigle of Purvis, Miss., John R. Daigle of Gonzales, Teddy Daigle of New Orleans, and Gary W. Daigle of Baton Rouge; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was a civil service librarian at the Ft. Huachuca Army Base, Ariz.
