Police reported they received information this morning from Waukesha county authorities that Albert Schneider, 40, formerly of this city, was killed Sunday night when he apparently walked into the side of a moving train at a railroad crossing.
Mr. Schneider left this city about five months ago and had been employed by the Milwaukee road. It was at the Milwaukee road's Elm Grove, Wis., crossing that the man's body was found by train crewman, about 11 o'clock last night.
Coroner Alvin Johnson, Waukesha county, notified police here that it was believed Schneider walked or stumbled into the side of a moving train bound for Berlin, Wis. Death was almost instantaneous, the coroner said, and there will be no inquest.
Police reported that Mr. Schneider's divorced wife and family of six children live in this city. The remains are to be brought here.
