Funeral services for Mrs. Sue (Melton) Best, 76, of Akron, OH, were conducted Monday, December 28, 2009 from the chapel at Newcomer Funeral Home in Akron. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Best died Monday, December 21. She retired from Ellet IGA after 15 years of service. She had previously been employed at Brimfield and Ravenna Sparkle Markets, was a member of UFCW Local 880 and enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her grandchildren. Born November 20, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Elliott and Lee Emma Melton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 5 sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Theresa Frank; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, William and Carrie Best and Chet and Debbie Best; 3 sisters, Leatrice Melton, Imogene Melton, and Kathleen Propst; 6 grandchildren, Renee Frank, John Frank III, Amanda Best, Ryan Best, Caley Best, and Dylan Best; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special care provided by Newcomer Funeral Home.
